Dear Homeowner:

Thank you for your interest in our program.  You may download the application and return it to us if you are interested in being considered for our services.

Please Note:  Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be selected.

Rebuilding Together Boston (RTB) is a renovation program dedicated to helping low-income, elderly, and physically-challenged people continue to live in their homes in the city of Boston.  Through repair and rehabilitation of their homes, community centers, and neighborhoods, with labor provided by RTB volunteers, individuals are able to live in warmth, safety, and independence.  The Boston affiliate is one of 240 affiliates across the country partnering to help our neighbors.

If accepted into the program, renovation services are provided at no cost.

In order to be considered you must send us copies of the following documents in order for us to determine your financial eligibility:

·        a copy of your most recent paid City of Boston Real Estate tax bill OR your deed;

·        a copy of your Social Security, pension, and/or retirement income statement;

·        a copy of a Federal W2 form from an employer, if you have worked in the past year; and

·        if you filed a Federal Income Tax return, with schedules, please include a copy of that, too.

In addition to the financial documentation, please respond to, as thoroughly as possible, all the additional information that is requested in the form (the description of your home, the list of work you feel needs to be done, children/relatives/tenants that live in the home, etc.).

Please make sure that you include any or all of these forms that will document your current income.

Applications will not be considered without this information.

Once you have completed the application, please return it to the RTB office at the address above.

The information you provide in the application is confidential and will only be shared with the RTB staff and volunteers directly involved in the selection or repair of your home.

We will begin site inspections in September 2007 and hope to have all sites selected by December 31, 2007 for our National Rebuilding Day Program.  We are accepting applications for our year round program on an ongoing basis.

If you live outside of Boston – please visit our national website at www.rebuildingtogether.org or call: 800-473-4229 for additional affiliate locations.

Please contact our office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

April Kreyssig

Program Manager
